BT Wi-Fi is now EE WiFi

Accessibility

The EE WiFi website has been designed to make it as widely accessible as possible so that everyone, regardless of ability, can use our site. This page gives information on features included within the site.

  • Problems

If you have any access problems with any part of this site, please contact us and we will do our best to help.

  • Standards compliance

The majority of pages are W3C AA compliant, a widely accepted standard of accessibility for websites.

In order to ensure all pages display well in most browsers, we ensure that all pages validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict and use a structured semantic markup.

  • Design and use of images

We have used a common accessible design throughout this website rather than providing text only pages for disabled users. When images are used, we provide descriptive 'alt' text for screen reader users where appropriate.

  • Links and navigation

Many links have title attributes which describe the link in greater detail, unless the text of the link already fully describes the target (such as the headline of an article).

Wherever possible, links are written to make sense when read out of context. Many browsers (such as JAWS, Home Page Reader, Lynx, and Opera) can extract the list of links on a page and allow you to browse the list separately from the page.

Link text is never duplicated: two links with the same link text always point to the same web address.

There are no 'javascript' pseudo-links. All links can be followed in any browser, even if scripting is turned off.

  • Language

We have followed 'use-of-English' guidelines, including those set out by Mencap and the Plain English Campaign, so that you find this website easy to read and understand.

  • Leaving the EE WiFi site

Many links take you to other websites outside BT which may not be as accessible.

  • Visual design and viewing options

All pages on this site use cascading style sheets for visual layout. Although we have used a large clear font throughout this website, we have given you the option of changing the font size via your Internet browser. For example, you can change the text size in Internet Explorer by going to 'View > 'Text Size' - other browsers contain similar features.

The BBC 'My Site My Way' site provides useful information on personalising your Internet browser to help make reading and navigating of all websites, including EE WiFi, easier:
